Configuration Fields
Field | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
type | string | required | — | Must be "sms" |
name | string | required | — | Unique component name. |
senderId | string | optional | — | Alphanumeric sender ID shown to recipients (e.g. MyApp). Not supported in all countries. Max 11 characters. |
messageType | string | optional | "TRANSACTIONAL" | "TRANSACTIONAL" (high priority, OTPs) or "PROMOTIONAL" (marketing). AWS only. |
Cloud Resources Created
- SNS SMS Attributes — sets the default sender ID and message type for the account.
Limitations: AWS SNS SMS is account-level, not resource-level. Spending limits apply. Some countries require pre-registration of sender IDs.
- Azure Communication Services (ACS) SMS — an ACS resource is provisioned via azure-resourcemanager-communication (idempotent); a phone number for SMS sending is then provisioned against it.
Limitations: Phone number provisioning is region-specific and may require regulatory approval in some countries.
- Twilio API Key (via Secret Manager) — the plugin stores a Twilio API key in GCP Secret Manager and grants access to linked functions.
Limitations: Requires a Twilio account. GCP does not have a native SMS service. The Secret Manager entry itself is recorded and returned as the resource ID; wiring against google-cloud-secretmanager (already a plugin dependency) is a follow-up.
